What is TutorCAI?
TutorCAI is an initiative led and organized by veteran classroom teachers and experienced tutors which is primarily aimed to professionalize and set a higher standard in private and home tuition. It offers tutor certification and tutorial center accreditation.  

How long has TutorCAI been around?
TutorCAI was started in the summer of 2018.

Where is TutorCAI based and registered?
As of July 2018, TutorCAI is in the early organization and development phase. Its organizing members will come from different countries and will soon determine among themselves where this entity shall be based and registered. The plan was to have an office in every country.   

What is interesting about having certified by TutorCAI?
Being a TutorCAI certified tutor means that you are more than qualified and equipped with skills to support students in their studies. It will be easier for parents and students to decide to hire you as a tutor. Tutor certification can help you find more and better opportunities for tutoring as well.

I do not have degree in education. Can I still be a TutorCAI certified tutor?
Yes, you can. TutorCAI will certify tutors with any college degree provided that they have the qualifications required. Click here to view the requirements for tutor certification.

I am still in college. Can I become a TutorCAI certified tutor?
No. TutorCAI will certify tutors with college or university degree only at this time. You are very much welcome to join TutorsCAI after your graduation.

What are the advantages of having TutorCAI accreditation for our tutorial center?
TutorsCAI accreditation can make a huge difference in your tutorial center. It gives you an edge over other tutorial centers in your community. Your accreditation means that a third party, composed of veteran educators and experienced tutors, have evaluated your company's competence in delivering excellent service to your clients and you passed it.

How many tutors have already been certified by TutorCAI?
TutorCAI staff will post an updated number of certified tutors on this page. At the moment, TutorCAI is still processing applications.

How many tutorial centers have already been accredited by TutorCAI?
TutorCAI staff will post an updated number of accredited tutorial centers on this page. At the moment, TutorCAI is still processing applications.

How long is the process of certification and accreditation?
Tutor certification is normally processed within 3 to 7 days while tutorial center accreditation can take 30 to 90 days depending on the documents presented and level of participation of the applicant. Please note that some tutorial centers may require a pre-accreditation visit by TutorCAI representatives.

We have non-TutorCAI certified tutors. May our tutorial center be accredited by TutorCAI?
No. All tutors must be TutorCAI certified before your tutorial center can be accredited. 

Does TutorCAI certify online tutors?
Yes, it does. Online tutors have the same requirements as home tutors.

How much is the fee for TutorCAI membership?
There is a one-time membership fee of USD 35 for tutors and USD 150 for tutorial centers. TutorCAI membership is required prior to certification and accreditation. Membership is not equivalent to tutor certificate or tutorial center accreditation but rather a precursor to them.  

How much is the fee for TutorCAI tutor certification?
The fee for tutor certification is USD 180 and is due prior to the release of the certificate.

How much is the fee for TutorCAI tutorial center accreditation?
The fee for the initial 3-year accreditation is USD 1,200 for Category A centers, USD 900 for Category B centers, and USD 600 for Category C centers. The accreditation will be reviewed and shall be renewed every three (3) years.

Category A Tutorial Centers
Category A tutorial centers have an average of 31 and more registered students in a month.

Category B Tutorial Centers
Category B tutorial centers have an average between 16 and 30 registered students in a month.

Category C Tutorial Centers
Category C tutorial centers have an average between 5 and 15 registered students in a month.

Who are the TutorCAI certifiers and accreditors?
TutorCAI certifiers and accreditors are veteran teachers (with at least 15 years of teaching experience) and experienced tutors (with at least 5 years of tutoring experience) from different countries around the world. Click here to view TutorCAI certifiers and accreditors.

I am a certified/licensed and practicing teacher and engaged in private or home tutoring. Why do I still need to apply for TutorCAI certification?
TutorCAI tutor certification can provide you with more opportunities to have more students. Parents will trust TutorCAI certified tutors than other tutors that are non-TutorCAI certified.

When is the TutorCAI mobile app going to be available to public? How does it work?
TutorCAI mobile app shall is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2020. Like Uber and other similar apps, it allows you to find TutorCAI certified tutors in your area so easily wherever you are in the world and whatever type of tutor you need.

What is TutorCAI Academy?
TutorCAI Academy is an online training program for individuals interested in tutoring but lacked experience and training. This feature should be available in 2019.

Is TutorCAI available in my country?
It should be available in all countries in the near future. Watch out for updates in the coming months.

If I get certified when I am in my home country, will I still remain certified if I move overseas?
Definitely, yes. 

I do not have a college degree but I am smart enough to be a tutor. May I still become a TutorCAI certified tutor?
Not at this time. TutorCAI will certify tutors with college or university degree only. We will announce when we open this opportunity for non-degree holders.
